The Board of Emmet County Road Commissioners will hold a public hearing at its offices at 2265 E. Hathaway Rd., Harbor Springs, MI 49740 at 8:10 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2023, for the purposes of discussing the proposed improvements to the following roads in Bear Creek Township:

Atkins Road from 1400’ east of Maplewood Road then to the east 1600’, 0.30 miles

Proposed improvements include Culvert Installation, Aggregate Base, Super Elevation Correction, Drainage Improvements, Asphalt Paving, Gravel Shoulders, Slope Restoration and Pavement Markings

Krause Road from Brubaker Road then to the south 4200’, 0.80 miles

Wild Cherry Lane, Elm Lane, Beech Lane, Woodland Lane and Hemlock Lane for a total of 0.94 miles

Proposed improvements include HMA resurfacing, curve relocation (at Elm and Wild Cherry), concrete curb and gutter, culvert and drainage improvements, and restoration

Intertown Road from from Lake Grove Road to Resort Pike for 1.49 miles

​Proposed improvements to Intertown Road in shall include the following:

from Blackbird Road to Resort Pike – trenching shoulder widening, HMA overlay, gravel shoulders, and pavement markings

from Lake Grove Road to Blackbird Road – HMA base crushing and shaping modified, biaxial geogrid, HMA paving, gravel shoulders, slope restoration, and pavement markings

Robinson Road from State Road to Palmer Road for 3.60 miles

Proposed improvements include trenching, aggregate base, HMA base crushing and shaping, HMA paving, HMA approach paving, HMA sloped curb & spillways, embankment, slope restoration, protective snowmobile trail crossing, and pavement markings.

Old US 31 starting 1150 feet south of US-31 to Camp Daggett Road for 1.63 miles
Proposed improvements include crushing existing paved surface and grading. Old US 31 will be returned to a gravel surface.
